Actuarial Analyst

Mixed Actuarial Analyst: £40,000 - £70,000
Specialty Insurer - City of London

A well-established specialty insurer is seeking a mixed actuarial analyst to join their actuarial team based in the City of London.

The successful applicant will assist across many actuarial functions including reserving, capital modelling, pricing, and risk. You will work across multiple lines of business, and you will be responsible for building successful, long-term relationships with the actuarial and underwriting teams.

The desirable candidate will be a part/nearly/newly qualified actuary and have the desire to continue the IFoA exams (a competitive study package is offered). The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability in one or more actuarial functions and preferably have experience as an actuarial analyst in the Lloyd’s and/or London market. Candidates outside the London market, with experience in general insurance will be considered.
 
Responsibilities:

• Provide actuarial support to the reserving, capital modelling, pricing, and risk teams.
• Build effective working relationships with co-workers in the Actuarial and underwriting teams.
• Contribute ideas to the development of the teams’ systems and processes.
• Ability to engage in peer review and challenge your peers work and opinions appropriately.
• Ability to simply complex topics and communicate findings to colleagues and senior stakeholders.

 
From you they are looking:

• A part/nearly/newly qualified actuarial analyst
• A numerate degree achieving a 2:1 or higher.
• Strong technical ability in one or more actuarial functions.
• Actuarial experience in general insurance (preferably within the London market).
