Job Title: Financial Crime Compliance Analyst (Insurance)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Location: London EC1

In this Job, you will give compliance support and practical assistance to the Business and Central Divisions on all aspects of financial crime provisions (anti-money laundering/countering terrorist financing, anti-bribery and corruption) and international sanctions. You will assist in the implementation of related systems and controls where necessary to ensure the company meets all compliance requirements. To work with the Risk team to help identify Company and Divisional risks related to financial crime and sanctions and support the Risk Framework.
 
Duties:

  • Monitor, analyse and draft advice and guidance with respect to changes in law and regulation and the impact to the Company.
  • Conducting research of financial crime provisions/sanctions regimes and provision of advice if placements can be undertaken.
  • Undertaking sanctions screening, analysing potential sanction and PEP matches (non-obvious false positives, true positive hits etc), clearing and escalating appropriately.
  • Assistance with Company financial crime/sanctions tools and technology, including recommendations for development and potentially assessment of alternate solutions.
  • Assist in financial crime risk assessments for new products, services and counterparties.
  • Prepare risk assessments for high-risk external third parties and regular and ongoing monitoring as required
  • To help investigate any suspected financial crime-related regulatory and policy breaches.
  • Assist in the development, review and update of internal compliance policies, ,procedures and reporting for board sign off as required.
  • Delivering specific objectives to enhance and embed the Financial Crime Framework and sanctions processes across first-line business processes and all regulated entities, whilst maintaining the criteria for escalation to Risk & Compliance.
  • Liaise with other departments and act as a subject matter expert on Financial Crime topics.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and delivery of counter financial crime training and onboarding new employees.
  • Assist in the approval process and onboarding of new entities following due diligence being undertaken
  • Assist in the collation and provision of compliance reporting.
  • Collect regular MI from the business on its first line activities
  •  Assist in departmental file audits where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Monitoring Team to develop, implement and maintain appropriate risk-based monitoring proportionate to the Company risk profile and operations.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects assigned by the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer as required.
  • Adhere to all company & FCA policies and procedures as instructed.
  • Prepare Compliance management information for Boards, Committees and as required.

 Ideal Experience:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Minimum ‘A’ Level preferred
  • CII or other relevant industry qualification preferred (or being worked towards)
