New Job - Product Development Manager City of London, Large International Insurer Perm, Full time, Hybrid Working Salary £60,000 - £80,000 + Benefits + Bonus
Job Summary: I am currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Product Development Manager to support the UK CUO and Property & Casualty Managers in the Systems, Operational and Product management of the Product suite through strong Project Management skills to maintain and develop the wordings estate, Bespoke customer offerings, Broker wordings.
The role reports in the Chief Underwriting Officer with 2 direct reports.
In conjunction with the Underwriting Operations Managers (UOM), development and ownership of implementation roadmap for Product Development including:
Working with Product Owners to define scope of Products through Market Sizing and competitor review
Working with IT stakeholders to provide Booking and document generation support
Work with Marketing to develop external marketing resources
Work with Compliance and Legal to approve Products for distribution
Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:
Keep Product Council appraised of any impending new products and participate in Product Council where required. Product Council approval must be granted for all new products.
Ensuring that UOMs and Policy Drafters provide and maintain oversight of:
Strong resource and support model in place for BAU requests
Regular product reviews are carried for all products
Development of new and existing wordings and supporting documentation for new products
Central wording repositories
Strong communication and coordination between Line of Business UOMs to ensure consistency among product lines with respect to Peer Reviews; Authority Statements; Multinational Processes; Rater completion; and all other day-to-day underwriting -related activities.
Work with IT on the development and implementation of IT projects across all P&C products
Working with Business Development and Client Relationship Managers on Broker & Client product offerings.
What skills & experience are required?
Have a proven track record in the delivery of business process change or product development initiatives
Have demonstrated success in dealing with ambiguity, proven ability to communicate at all levels, including senior executive level and cross-group
Exceptional organisation and project management skills
Have a solid understanding of Underwriting, Underwriting Operations or Underwriting Compliance requirements.
Expert understanding of policy form in either Property or Casualty is advantageous
Understanding and/or experience of Six Sigma, Prince2, Agile or Waterfall project management frameworks is advantageous
