Reinsurance Technician

A reputable Lloyd's syndicate is growing their outwards reinsurance operations team with this hire. Reporting into the Reinsurance Operations Manager, you will process and manage the syndicate reinsurance program across specific business classes becoming a reinsurance expert in your given field. 

This team cumulatively has over 100 years' reinsurance experience in the Lloyd's market therefore providing outstanding training and development opportunities. 

Flexible working is available in this team with one day mandatory per week. Candidates will ideally come from an outwards reinsurance background however candidates will be considered from a reinsurance broking, claims or other technical role. 

• Setting up reinsurance contracts in reinsurance systems 
• Identifying, calculating and notifying reinsurance recoveries (Proportional, XOL, Quota Share)
• Credit Control activities to ensure quickest possible cashflow to/from reinsurers
• Responding to technical reinsurance queries from internal and external stakeholders
• Adhering to all controls and maintaining auditable evidence
• Processing LORS entries and USM transactions
• Analysing and providing data to support reinsurance placements and reporting requirements
• Improving existing manual processes

Skills and Experience required:

• Experience working in an outwards reinsurance department (claims, broker, other technical role will be considered)
• Good knowledge of Lloyd’s and London insurance market
• Strong MS Excel ability
• Practical knowledge of London market Underwriting and Reinsurance systems
