£90000 - £100000 per annum

Job Ref:BH-23151
Technical Infrastructure Lead (Highly Regulated Environment – Azure, Kubernetes, Security, Modern Workplace)
£100K–£110K Benefits | London | Hybrid (3–4 days in office)

Are you the person who thrives at the intersection of modern cloud engineering, security, and enterprise-scale infrastructure? Do you want the autonomy to shape, build, and evolve a forward-thinking technology estate—without legacy barriers slowing you down.

A growing financial services organisation is investing heavily in modernising its technology platforms. They are looking for a Technical Infrastructure Lead who can own and drive the evolution of their cloud-first infrastructure with real influence, real accountability, and genuine strategic input.

You’ll be the technical authority across cloud, platforms, and infrastructure—working with Azure, AKS/Kubernetes, identity services, modern endpoints, and security engineering. This is not a maintenance role; it’s a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who enjoys building, designing, improving, and challenging the status quo.

You’ll operate in an environment where security, resilience, and architectural rigour truly matter. Your role is pivotal in shaping how the organisation stays secure, scalable, compliant, and ahead of the curve. Imagine a role where:
  • Your expertise directly defines the future technology landscape
  • You have the freedom to refine and adapt architecture standards
  • You collaborate with senior stakeholders and group functions
  • You influence everything from network design to cloud governance
  • You’re the go‑to technical leader for Kubernetes, Azure, and modern infrastructure
  • You work in a company small enough to be agile but large enough to invest

What We’re Looking For

Must‑Have
Technical Skills

  • Strong hands‑on Azure cloud experience (compute, networking, storage, databases)
  • Deep knowledge of AKS/Kubernetes & containerisation (major requirement)
  • Broad experience across infrastructure security and governance
  • Strong understanding of Entra ID/M365 identity, access controls, and conditional access
  • Experience with VDI/endpoint and modern workplace technologies
  • Strong understanding of enterprise-scale architectures and infrastructure patterns
  • Awareness of Power BI / Power Platform in a cloud-integrated environment

Experience & Behaviours
  • 5 years in senior infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering roles
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, or highly regulated environments
  • Strong communicator with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
  • Able to operate across hands-on engineering, design thinking, and stakeholder influence
  • Comfortable challenging, improving, and evolving standards and practices

This is a rare chance to combine hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and strategic thinking—all within a modern, cloud-centric, highly regulated organisation where your knowledge genuinely matters.

If you're ready to step into a role where you can build, improve, innovate, challenge, and lead—and where your technical depth is truly valued—then we’d love to speak with you.
