This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of capital and risk modelling work, with the chance to support high-profile clients across the general insurance and reinsurance sectors.
Responsibilities:
Deliver advice on solvency, economic capital, risk management, financial modelling, and business planning for clients across the non-life market.
Lead concurrent actuarial assignments, often acting as the main client contact, working closely with internal teams and international network firms.
Contribute to areas such as ESG, risk challenge, or training and development as part of the strategic growth of the practice.
Oversee the development and mentoring of junior team members, including on-the-job coaching and career support.
Apply and review risk and capital modelling techniques, including model development, validation, and implementation.
Engage with a variety of model types and software, including tools such as Igloo, Tyche, or ReMetrica.
Maintain awareness of regulatory developments and support clients with compliance and model approval, including Solvency II internal models.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic insight across areas such as reserving, pricing, M&A, audit support, and IFRS 17.
Requirements:
A qualified or nearly qualified actuary with relevant experience in capital modelling or risk management.
Background in the general insurance or reinsurance market, with awareness of industry-wide issues and emerging risks such as climate or cyber.
Experience with model development and regulatory interaction, ideally within a consultancy or mixed background.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical content to senior stakeholders.
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects with a clear and pragmatic approach.
