As a key member of the three-person Actuarial Risk Team, the Actuarial Risk Analyst will play a vital role in capital model risk management and the monitoring/reporting of risk metrics. This role also involves the production of ORSAs and scenario analysis, providing exposure to critical business areas and senior stakeholders.

Validation:

  • Support the annual validation of the Lloyd’s syndicate capital model, conducting in-depth reviews of various model areas.
  • Prepare risk reports for significant model developments or re-parameterisations.
  • Undertake lighter validation on other internally used capital models and perform detailed reviews of actuarial and other models across the business.
  • Collaborate with model owners and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of model workings and outputs, recommending refinements or raising findings as necessary.

Risk Metrics:

  • Update and enhance dashboards across all business areas, ensuring accurate and insightful risk reporting.
  • Engage with stakeholders to deepen understanding of risk metrics and provide comprehensive risk commentary.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of quarterly risk metrics presentations for Risk Committees and Boards.
  • Contribute to the annual review of risk metrics, ensuring relevance, and develop new metrics and risk appetites as required.

Ownership of ORSA:

  • Contribute to the annual ORSA for four entities, with a focus on quantitative risk perspectives.
  • Maintain and track the business risk profile inputs featured in ORSA, ensuring quarterly updates on their trends.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a non-life actuarial function (in-house or consultancy).
  • Strong understanding of capital modelling principles, including comfort with stochastic modelling techniques and aggregations.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex risk data and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to address core issues.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills, with a focus on risk-related content.
  • Demonstrable progress with an Actuarial qualification.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.
