Arthur is delighted to be working with one of the London markets leading Lloyd’s Syndicates as they look to add an Assistant Marine and Aviation Claims Manager to their team.
 
Assisting the Head of Marine and Aviation Claims, you will be responsible for the following:
 
Your Role:

  • Delivery, through personal ownership and via the team of a first-class service to all customers
  • Management of a portfolio of claims, primarily of a more complex nature. This may be achieved through personal ownership, working with a more experienced colleague or by oversight of Senior Claims Adjusters and/or Claims Adjusters
  • Ensuring that the principles of conduct risk are fully understood, embedded, and practiced by all members of the team and external service suppliers
  • Setting and monitoring of team members’ appraisals and objectives to support delivery of the company’s business plan to include personal training and development
  • Assisting the Head of Marine & Aviation Claims in ensuring that all claims presented are handled in accordance with the highest professional standards, cost effectively and meeting all relevant SLA’s
  • Ownership of nominated client relationships to ensure delivery of Claims services to support and develop business objectives.
  • Working with the company’s compliance and Internal Audit teams to ensure that agreed business procedures in respect of claims functions are complied with
  • Liaison with Underwriting team(s) regarding claims and wording issues at an individual and market level and to support profitable development of account(s)

 
Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • General Marine and Aviation insurance market background.
  • Extensive experience handling Marine and Aviation claims in the Lloyd’s market
  • ACII desirable
  • Experience of managing people or mentoring
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of the London Market (understanding and knowledge of market practices, duties, and obligations of parties)
  • Understanding of Claims MI, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ECF
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
