We are working exclusively with a leading specialist insurance broker who are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join their growing Credit & Surety practice. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially driven professional to play a key role in expanding their client base across the financial services sector. The Role As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for originating and developing new business opportunities within banks, asset managers, private equity firms, and other financial institutions. You will work closely with senior leadership and client teams to design and deliver bespoke credit insurance and surety solutions, while driving growth in a strategically important segment of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on financial services clients.
Build strong relationships with key decision makers across banks, investment funds, and other institutions.
Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand existing client relationships.
Partner with underwriting and broking teams to deliver innovative and commercially viable solutions.
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to raise brand awareness.
Deliver against agreed sales targets and contribute to the long-term growth of the practice.
About You
Proven track record in business development, sales, or client relationship management within credit, surety, or financial services.
Strong network across financial institutions and the ability to engage at senior stakeholder level.
Solid understanding of credit risk, structured finance, or trade-related insurance products.
Entrepreneurial, proactive, and motivated by achieving commercial outcomes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
