Casualty Claims Adjuster

Arthur is delighted to be instructed to find a Casualty Claims Adjuster to join one of the Lloyd’s markets leading Syndicates. The successful candidate will benefit from working closely with highly experienced claims professionals and have exposure to market leading losses across global jurisdictions.   Your role will be to handle inwards claims in accordance with the assigned settlement authority provided to you. To provide support to the Claims Manager and Head of Claims in managing and reviewing claim files, creating and maintaining claims records and providing management information. You will also be tasked with undertaking a structured training programme with the aim of developing your claims handling skills Your Role: Entry and maintenance of Claims Management System, organising and running reports from CMSClaim file management, including retrieving brokers claim files, document management, scanning and document retentionAgreeing and settling claim bordereauxAgreeing and arranging for settlement of valid covered claims upon selected accounts, subject to terms of individual authorityAnalysis and review of individual claims upon programmes where managed syndicate leads, and follows as required, subject to terms of individual authorityPreparing various management reports for internal and external purposes as required Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Knowledge of underwriting and reinsurance appropriate to the roleDeveloping an understanding of the insurance market, industry and people.Knowledge of the main issues affecting the insurance marketKnowledge of the standards and rules of the regulatory bodies and those set out in the company’s standard proceduresKnowledge of the types of business transacted by the syndicateIT skills (Word, Excel and other software packages used within the business)Relationship skills both internally and externally For more information, please contact me on chris.hughes@arthur.co.uk or 0203 587 7471
