Casualty Treaty Underwriter/Senior Underwriter

Arthur are proud to be partnered with a leading London Market Reinsurer as they look to expand their Casualty Treaty division and add a Senior Underwriter to the team.

The team are incredibly high performing and currently boast one of the largest books of business in the market, servicing a broad portfolio of UK and International business across Treaty Casualty and Professional Lines business, including cyber treaty. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exceptional team as second in command, with the freedom to run with accounts and have real input as to the direction and strategy of the book. You'd be working with some of the most renowned names in the market, who would act as strong mentors as you look to develop your career.

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain, develop, and profitably underwrite a significant book of Casualty and Professional Lines Treaty business for Domestic, Lloyd’s and Global clients.
• To maintain a focus on building and strengthening relationships with clients and brokers.
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Widespread collaboration across actuarial, contract wording, finance, legal and claims departments.
• Market proposition to reinsurance brokers and existing/new clients via a large variety of avenues.
• Scheduling, organising, and conducting underwriting audits for both new and existing accounts.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to the junior underwriters.

The team are keen to speak with a range of candidates, however, Treaty experience is crucial. Demonstrable experience of working with Casualty Treaty or Professional Lines Treaty contracts, gained across Underwriting, Broking or Ceded Reinsurance Purchasing will be considered.
