We have partnered with a leading ReInsurance broker on the search for a Catastrophe Analyst to join their UK team. 

In this position you will have a focus on the property and casualty lines of business, in which you will cover risks to business from all aspects of natural perils and catastrophes. 

You will have the opportunity to contribute and lead on modelling projects on both domestic and global accounts, and have year round client engagement with model interpretation and portfolio management. You will also have the opportunity to work on real-time reporting and analysis for natural disasters and support clients post-event. There is also an opportunity to work on climate change related projects. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Quantifying catastrophe risk using RMS, AIR and in-house models. 
  • Converting exposure data provided by clients. 
  • Engaging with brokers, reinsurers and clients on climate change related discussions. 
  • Communicating results to stakeholders. 
  • Reporting analysis of natural disasters as well as supporting clients post event. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in an analytical subject; mathematics, economics, science or earth sciences etc.
  • Experience in Insurance Markets with knowledge about ReInsurance 
  • 1-2 years experience of Catastrophe Modelling 
  • Excellent IT skills, ideally within programming (SQL, VBA, R)
  • Working knowledge of at least one vendor model.
