Compliance and Risk Manager Insurance - London/Hybrid

My client, a newly successful MGA require an experienced compliance manager to join their growing team.

The compliance and risk manager will be a key business partner to both the management team and its portfolio of MGAs in the areas of compliance and risk management.

An understanding of insurance alongside the FCA handbook and FCA guidance will be required with the responsibility to ensure these are reflected and embedded in the organization.

The CRM role will work closely with the Director of Finance and Compliance and take responsibility for the compliance monitoring plan, internal governance, and frameworks within the group.


Key responsibilities


External compliance
 Ensuring the business maintains the controls and process required by a 3rd party is a key responsibility, as well as monitoring and reporting this under the compliance monitoring plans.
 Other legal and regulatory compliance such as HM Treasury, ICO, IPO and Lloyds market reporting and administration will also be within the roles responsibility

Internal governance and compliance

The role will aim to automate as much compliance and risk data as possible to ensure scalable reporting.

Development of a Control frameworks to ensure commercial success and risk mitigation. These will be developed  from existing policies and processes to ensure good governance as part of an ongoing process of review and improvement.

Partnering
The role will require 1st line support to the MGAs as a business partner.  This area will be exciting and varied with exposure to both the pre-launch, start-up phase and “business as usual” phases of businesses and provide insight into areas, such as technology, insurance product design, finance and marketing.

Skills and experience

  • Experience and understanding of the regulated insurance environment.
  • Experience of risks and processes in insurance intermediation and the insurance value chain.
  • Understanding of governance, controls and reporting data effectively.
  • Development of high-level frameworks that can cascade down into policy and processes.
  • Understanding of insurance TOBA, DUA/Binder agreements and ability to review
