We are working with a leading insurance broker that are looking to expand their team by hiring a Compliance Business Partner.

In this broad role, you will be expected to implement and lead on all matters in respect to product governance, consumer duty and conduct risk, as well as demonstrating impeccable regulatory knowledge, relaying all relevant changes across the wider business.

As the principal referral point for the business regarding techinical expertise, you will be expected to carry out the following:

Key Duties

  • Provides relevant management information relating to their specified division(s) to senior management and governance fora.
  • Works closely with the first and second line monitoring functions to determine whether or not conduct risk and general compliance related metrics are suitably designed and incorporated and, where issues are identified, are being addressed in a timely manner.
  • Creating a framework to ascertain regular review of the performance of different compliance systems and controls, which do not fall within BAU Compliance Monitoring Team activities.
  • Supplying oversight in respect of all regulatory matters, including but not limited to Consumer Duty, Product Governance, ARs, SMCR etc.
  • Communicating regulatory changes in relation to conduct risk and general compliance, providing recommendations to improve performance and mitigate risks.
  • Staying aware of all regulatory and legal changes which impacts on the job role.
  • Ensuring that all escalations are communicated to the relevant Executives,Compliance or Governance Committees on all matters of concern or emerging risks
  • Writing and successfully communicating regular reports and deliverables across the business.
  • Ensuring records are accurate and dealing with all correspondence in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Strictly complying with the code of conduct which is a direct reflection of the FCA’s code of conduct that all regulated entities must adhere to.

About You:

  • You will have SME-like experience on regulatory expectations with regard to first line compliance (product governance, conduct risk, consumer duty etc.), as well as the FCA habook and all principles and guidelines.
  • Extensive experience of operating in the compliance department of an insurance broker or general insurer.
  • Strong commercial background with an understanding as to the relevance of this in the insurance market
  • Experienced in building strong and constructive relationships with stakeholders and business executives.
  • You will have experience in working on different change projects.
  • A proven track record of successfully collaborating with different teams.
  • Impeccable analytical and both verbal and written communication skills.
