Job Title: Compliance Officer Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Salary Range: £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience Location:Hybrid/Remote
The legislative and regulatory environment is continually evolving, the Insurance industry must react to such development in good time to ensure it is not operating outside of the law. The successful candidate will be required to maintain their knowledge and awareness of the regulatory environment within the business context. As a Compliance Consultant, you will develop and produce informative, targeted, well thought out communications, reports and training, working effectively with compliance business partners, which highlight key and emerging compliance risks, to aid the right conversations and effective actions to manage conduct risks.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide compliance advice, opinions and challenge to support business decision making across the delivery of legal and regulatory change and business or compliance-related projects, so that conduct risks are effectively managed.
Provide compliance business partner services for Customer and Claims and other areas providing advice, training and awareness of upcoming regulatory change.
Support the implementation and embedding of regulatory technology to provide efficient and effective outputs and utilise to enhance oversight of compliance risks, and work with the business.
Work closely with the Compliance Business Partners and other key members of Compliance to consider all emerging legal and regulatory developments relevant to company Products.
Engage effectively with key stakeholders, at all levels
Support timely responses to regulatory requests and thematic reviews, preparing, communicating, and overseeing the delivery of clear action plans to produce the information required in good time.
Take the lead in designated projects that deliver benefit, using multiple skills, including but not limited to thought leadership, analytical, communication, presentation, and influencing.
What you will need to succeed as a Compliance Consultant:
Insurance experience essential
Proven record in a compliance advice role or equivalent role, preferably with General Insurance and ideally additional wider experience.
Detailed knowledge of UK regulation and legislation including FCA principles, rules and guidance, and their interpretation.
Demonstrated ability in Project Management.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Have specialist and detailed knowledge of all regulatory requirements applicable to General Insurance, including FCA, consumer credit, Ofcom, ASA etc.
Excellent analytical and report writing skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a logical approach and high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and use own initiative to identify problems and follow through findings with effective remedial actions.
Calm and focused when working under pressure, demonstrating a ‘can do’ approach, with enthusiasm and initiative.
