Arthur are delighted to be partnered with an excellent underwiter who are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure of the organisation. Your primary responsibilities will involve developing and optimising data pipelines, managing databases for data integrity and performance, and resolving data-related issues. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for accuracy and numeracy, strong IT technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Management: Manage and maintain databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and security. This includes performing adhoc backup and restore operations.
  2. Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, and optimise data pipelines to efficiently ingest data from various sources into our systems.
  3. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimise the performance of data pipelines and databases to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
  4. Data Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve data-related issues, troubleshoot data quality problems, and ensure consistent data. 
  • IT Technical Skills: 
    • Proven knowledge of database systems, Microsoft SQL, and ETL tools.
    • Understanding of cloud-based data solutions, preferably Azure.
    • Knowledge of maintaining online reporting tools, especially Power BI.
    • Powershell skills to manage and create task automation.
    • Excellent Transact SQL skills.
  • Experience or Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Data Engineer.
    • Strong accuracy and numeracy skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Relationship skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact at all levels within the organisation.
