Senior Data Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum, Location: London, EC3/Hybrid

A global insurer based in London is searching for a Data Engineer to become a permanent member of their development team. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of data scientists, data engineers and analysts to conduct exploratory data discovery, design and development of advanced machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive knowledge in P&C insurance and practical experience in delivering data solutions using Azure services such as SQL, ADF, Spark, and Databricks.

The following qualifications are essential for success in this position:

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Scala, PySpark, etc.
• Experience with parallel and distributed systems like Hadoop and Spark
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field
• Proficiency in SQL and advanced data manipulation methods
• Experience with a cloud platform provider such as AWS, Azure, GCP
• Experience developing predictive models and/or deep learning solutions using frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, CNTK, etc.
