Data Engineer (SQL)
I am pleased to be working with a leading Insurance company who is actively seeking a Data Engineer with expertise in Microsoft-based data platform projects, particularly strong experience in Azure. The ideal candidate will bring a background as a Data Engineer with a proven track record of delivering data solutions using Azure services such as SQL and ADF. This role demands a hands-on approach, combined with the ability to contribute to solution reviews and designs, ensuring best practices and providing assurance on development approaches. Success in this role hinges on managing multiple project deliveries simultaneously, coupled with an exceptional attention to detail.
Please note that this role is London-based and hybrid (2-3 days in-office).
Role Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in Azure platform architecture and developing data engineering pipelines.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ADF, and Azure Analysis Services.
  • Provide technical expertise in data engineering, analysis, orchestrations, and enrichment.
  • Contribute significantly to the success of the Data Engineering team.

Role Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record in Data Engineering, enabling business insights from data.
  • MUST have experience in working with insurance data.
  • Familiarity with data tools (e.g., ADF, Analysis Services (DAX), and SQL).
  • Knowledge of good development practices and automation.
  • Highly organized, with excellent planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, willing and able to develop new skills, e.g., Python, Databricks.
