We are delighted to partner exclusively with a specialty Lloyd’s syndicate to recruit a Delegated Authority Manager. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer and includes line management responsibilities.

Role overview:
As the Delegated Authority Manager, you will have ultimate oversight and management of the syndicate’s delegated authority framework. You will be an integral member of the Delegated Underwriting & Claims Committee and provide expert advice and guidance to underwriters for delegated business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the approval process for binders and lineslips, ensuring compliance with procedures and tracking actions, with escalation as needed
  • Develop and monitor the annual coverholder audit plan, review audit reports, and ensure actions are tracked through to completion
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of binders and lineslips, addressing post-inception changes, and managing coverholders, including cancellation and non-renewal
  • Produce management information and exception reports for internal committees
  • Attend market forums and conferences to stay updated on developments within the delegated market

Experience required:

  • Strong understanding of Lloyd’s and regulatory requirements concerning delegated arrangements
  • Solid experience in delegated business, including the onboarding of new coverholders and consortia business
  • Confidence in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior team members
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
