Director of Operations

Arthur is collaborating with a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate to recruit an Operations Director.
 
This pivotal role will shape and execute operational strategy, enhance performance, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across both the UK and MENA regions.
 
The appointed individual will lead the underwriting support teams in these regions, while also overseeing the operational excellence and optimisation functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery of consistently high operational standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Lead the underwriting support teams across the UK and MENA, ensuring high performance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Drive capability and service excellence through the training & development function.
• Manage the optimisation team to identify and deliver innovative improvements to underwriting processes.
• Collaborate with business-wide operational leaders to align initiatives with strategic goals.
• Represent the operations function on internal and external committees.
• Monitor market developments and assess their implications for operational activities.
• Partner closely with the executive team to shape operational strategies and deliver data-driven insights.
• Sponsor and lead key operational projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and effective delivery.
• Work with the operational excellence lead, to promote consistent application of the operating model.

 
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and collaborative senior leader with experience in complex, multi-regional environments. They will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and a proven track record of driving operational excellence and transformative change.
