Our client a leading global insurer, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Resilience and Regulatory Support.
 
This pivotal role will be responsible for ensuring the business remain compliant with current and emerging regulations, while also driving the development and execution of strategies to mitigate third-party risks and bolster operational resilience.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience, with a proven track record in regulatory compliance, risk management, and business continuity. You will lead a team of professionals while engaging with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure the company’s operational framework remains strong and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

Third-Party Risk Management:

  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive third-party risk management framework, including vendor assessments and ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, collaborating with legal, procurement, and other departments.

Operational Resilience:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of an operational resilience strategy, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
  • Drive business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring the company is prepared for any crisis situations.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of changing regulations affecting third-party risk and operational resilience.
  • Lead the team to ensure full regulatory compliance and prepare regular updates for senior management and the board.

Governance Programme:

  • Develop and manage a governance program to meet expanding regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of governance practices to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team in the risk management and operational resilience functions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at industry events and forums related to risk management and governance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in risk management, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance within a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing and improving third-party risk management frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory environments and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, high-stakes projects while maintaining a focus on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • A strategic thinker who can lead by example and foster collaboration across departments.
