The Position
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our client's team and take responsibility for all financial reporting aspects to Lloyd’s. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts, tax, other regulatory requirements and management information to the relevant steering bodies.

You will be expected to report on key financial performance aspects including underwriting profitability, expense targets, cash flows & liquidity and investment returns. You will also provide accurate and appropriate management information to the relevant steering bodies including the Board, Audit Committee, Executive Committee, Finance Sub Committee and Risk & Capital Committee as required.

You must be prepared to influence and propose the company accounting standards, policies, procedures and reporting timetables, ensuring that group management and financial accounting requirements are met.

Requirements
• Relevant depth of experience in the insurance or Reinsurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of the regulatory and accounting frameworks within the insurance industry, UKGAAP, IFRS, Solvency II Prudential Standards & Guidance, tax knowledge, basic investment accounting knowledge
• Experience preparing audit files, statutory financial statements, regulatory returns and liaising with external auditors
• Strong Financial and management accounting experience
• Excellent stakeholder management including developing effective relationships
