Financial Risk Manager

Arthur have partnered with our client, a well-regarded general insurer, on the search for a Financial Risk Manager to fill a newly-created position within its group risk management function.
 
Reporting into the Head of Financial Risk, this role will allow you the scope to develop and form practices that help drive the business forward strategically as well as providing exposures to stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and seniority levels. In practice, this will include:
 

• Leading on elements of the financial risk strategy including developing procedures, setting and monitoring risk appetites and running stress and scenario testing exercises
• Running deep dive reviews in line with business or regulatory requirements
• Supporting the validation process for the economic capital model
• Work directly with first line functions to produce, review and enhance risk management analytics so as to enhance business decision making in line with the wider company strategy

 
Now is an excellent time to be joining this business – with a newly hired CRO in place, its risk management function has been restructured with the goal to add more value to the business beyond simply achieving regulatory compliance.
 
With the quantitative and financial risk overlaps of this role, our client is seeking candidates with direct experience working in financial or quantitative risk management roles, ideally within the insurance marketplace. It will also be important to showcase effective communication skills with the ability to present your work both verbally and through written reports.
