Arthur have partnered with a leading Insurer / ReInsurer to hire a Graduate Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to their London Team. 

In this role, you will be a part of the Cat Modelling team, in which you will provide analysis and data on catastrophic excess and develop catastrophic peril related projects to help manage risks. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of lines of business, including property, speciality and terrorism. This role is ideal for a graduate looking to kick-start their career in Catastrophe Modelling. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing data analytics and price catastrophe reinsurance loss contracts. 
  • Explaining CAT modelling concepts to the underwriters to help decision making.
  • Evaluating exposure data and highlight improvements in exposure information. 
  • Work with underwriters to ensure that analysis and reporting methods are evolving and adapting to new technologies and the market.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A university degree preferably in Mathematics, Science, Economics or Earth Science 
  • Strong technical skills such as Excel, VBA, SQL, Python and R are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and an analytical mindset. 
  • Interest in the Insurance Market and a strong understanding of Catastrophe Modelling concepts. 
  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
