The Head of Data has a passion for quality and operational excellence that will structure and support the data architecture designs across the company. This role, and Data function, is to support the implementation of core data platforms alongside business systems to process structured and unstructured data against our analytical needs.
The role also has a key responsibility in the formation and definition of the companies’ data strategy, with direct management and oversight into the delivery of its operating structure, underpinning architecture, and presentation of BI data insights.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation and formation of the overarching Data Strategy and Data Roadmap for the IT and wider company.
Define and manage the Data Governance required to establish accurate data patterns and consumption of data across the enterprise.
Structure and manage the Data Engineering team to provide the day-to-day support and running of the internal and external data platforms.
Work alongside the Head of IT, Enterprise Architect, and senior stakeholders within the company on publishing data roadmap, controls and the promotion of data usage to drive decision making.
Assist in the evaluation and integration of external datasets into the technology landscape, using modern cloud tooling to govern the data consumption, quality and design of metadata and reference data for the business.
Technical skills
Solid experience of data integration and mapping experience.
Advance knowledge of database query languages, e.g. SQL.
Experience of data mapping API and Web services (XML / JSON) data models
Excellent knowledge of Cloud analytics, MI/BI platforms (Power BI/Power Apps/Tableau)
Practical experience of designing and implementing Data Warehouse/Data Lake/Data Brick solutions with Azure services and tooling.
Demonstrate Data Governance definition to document data structures, ensuring data flows, traceability, and lineage requirements are met.
Developed data analytical experience, to work alongside data science and external partners.
Proven capability to define re-usable data architecture standards and blueprints.
Management, mentoring and upskilling of internal teams within the data and BI domain
