Job: Compliance Officer
Salary: £60,000
Location: UK Base/Remote

Purpose of the Role is to provide business partnering to overseas offices, working with the International Compliance Manager to ensure adherence with the Group Accountability, Risk and Compliance Framework.
 
Duties:
 
·       Provide compliance support to the International Offices
·       Monitor overseas regulatory developments
·       Manage, prepare, and monitor overseas licensing applications and submissions.
·       Assist in the preparation of reports for, and attend as necessary, the International Executive Committee
·       Ensure Compliance has appropriate second line oversight of business practices/processes that are intended to ensure our operations are compliant at all levels.
·       Work with internal stakeholders to measure adherence of the international offices to the Group and Segment Risk Appetite.
·       Embed the Group Policies as applicable and, where necessary, any policies required to comply with local regulatory obligations.
·       Support any Group Internal Audits and/or Compliance monitoring of International Offices.

Functional Knowledge/ technical knowledge:
Current and actively maintained knowledge of the regulatory environment, including good knowledge of the FCA handbook and how the relevant regulator(s), including overseas as applicable, operate.  Able to apply this in a practical way to business processes, procedures and controls.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical ability, providing challenge to data received to ensure that reports produced are robust.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, solving problems where necessary, but ensuring consistency of approach with team colleagues.

  • A level of expertise that enables support, guidance and challenge of senior leaders in the business.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to sell the benefits of risk and regulatory risk management practices.
