Lead Software Engineer (Node.js)
 
A rapidly growing Insurance company are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Node.js) to come onboard and take ownership of the development of their APIs and Integrations.
 
They are looking for someone competent in building APIs with Node.js with TypeScript as well as DevOps and Cloud skills.
 
Responsibilities of the Lead Software Engineer:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement robust and scalable Node.js applications.
  • Write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code in TypeScript.
  • Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices.

 
Essential skills for the Lead Software Engineer:

  • Proven experience as a Node.js Developer with a strong focus on TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with server-side frameworks such as Express.js.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL databases).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration.

 
Desirable skills for the Lead Software Engineer:

  • Experience with IaC tools, preferably Terraform
  • Cloud experience, preferably Azure

 
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum
Location: Heavily remote, quarterly London visits. Must be UK based.
Start Date: ASAP, up to 3 months notice considered
