Liability/ Construction Underwriter

Arthur has partnered with a specialist London MGA, that is seeking recruit 2 Construction / Liability Underwriter to join their Commercial New Business Team.
This position offers hybrid working, and the offices are based in the centre of the City of London.

My client is an insurance solutions company that specialises in both e-trade & traditional underwriting of SME commercial package policies inclusive of commercial combined & contractors combined.

What we are looking for -
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in either construction, liability, property, or P&C underwriting. My client is looking to hire 2 underwriters due to company growth, so they will consider different experience levels ranging from Assistant Underwriter to Senior Underwriter. 

Key responsibilities -

• As a Construction / Liability Underwriter, you will be responsible for writing wages and turnover business on a presentation basis, underwriting a high volume of wages and turnover business with an average premium of £3,000 and the potential to write up to a premium of £100,000.
• You will also have the ability to interpret policy/endorsement wordings and have experience in writing your own or modifying existing wordings.
• You will also be responsible for meeting and exceeding brokers' service levels and expectations, identifying cover and hazards that will impact the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk, building and maintaining strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence, and supporting the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.
