Are you passionate about financial risk and curious about how capital, investment, and insurance markets connect? We are looking for a Manager, Financial Risk to join on a fixed term contract, where you’ll play a key role in shaping the organisation’s approach to financial risk management.
This role is responsible for ensuring the effective management of financial risks that impact capital and assets across the organisation and the wider market. It’s an opportunity to influence strategy at a time of transformation and growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, assess, and report on financial risks including capital, investment, and liquidity risks.
• Analyse market developments in capital and investment and translate their impact into actionable insights.
• Provide structured problem-solving, clear communication, and high-quality deliverables to senior stakeholders.
• Support and challenge risk and investment decisions, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s risk appetite.
• Lead and contribute to strategic projects, managing multiple stakeholders and complex workstreams.

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or broader financial services (e.g. transactions, securitisation, ILS, capital markets).
• Understanding of capital flows and the role of institutional investors and alternative capital providers.
• Familiarity with alternative assets (e.g. private equity, private credit, real assets) and their interaction with insurance balance sheets.
• Ability to assess investment risks (e.g. liquidity, asset/liability correlations, concentration, systemic risks).
• Project management experience in financial services or advisory environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.

Qualifications (desirable, not mandatory)

• CFA Charterholder or Actuary (FIA).
