The client I am working with is a global, leading, and well-respected player in the insurance industry, particularly within the London market. They offer a diverse range of insurance solutions and primarily specialise within, property and casualty, marine, energy, construction, and engineering insurance.
Their London market team consists of elite insurance professionals, each with a wealth of experience and expertise, and with that they are looking to further increase and develop their team by bringing on a board a Marine Claims Handler.
Your Role:

As a Marine Claims handler, you will be responsible for handling claims that occur out of the business’s Marine classes. You will be responsible for the full process from FNOL to settlement within your assigned authority limit. Working in partnership with senior handler / claims management whilst maintaining the highest standard of technical file handling and customer service.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage, assess and adjust assigned claims, ensuring that coverage is accurately assessed, and file reserving is correctly set / maintained
  • Proactively manage claim files ensuring all documentation is correctly filed and claims are regularly updated, diarised and managed proactively
  • Ensure that claims are handled promptly, fairly and with integrity in accordance with the company’s claims management guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of communication with claims management and underwriting to ensure that information on significant claims and claims trends is shared expeditiously
  • Ensure large loss information and large loss reports are shared promptly
  • Liaise with brokers, stake holders and policy holders as required

What You Need:

  • Proven experience dealing with Marine Claims from FNOL to settlement.
  • Knowledge of ECF2
  • Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of Insurance and related issues through formal and informal learning / exams
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers
