Posted:

Arthur is partnered with a Lloyds syndicate who is hiring a Senior Operational Controls Analyst to join their team.

You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the syndicate’s operational control environment and driving strategic change, working closely with the Head of Operational Controls and the Quality Assurance Manager. Your focus will be on ensuring underwriting controls and operational processes are effectively embedded and consistently monitored. Through strengthening control effectiveness and streamlining operations, you’ll support informed decision-making while upholding regulatory compliance and reducing risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior operational subject matter expert and trusted business partner to underwriting teams, while also providing support to Claims, Finance, and other key functions across the syndicate.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure compliance with minimum control standards, ensuring timely and accurate reporting as required.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Lloyd’s Europe model, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal process requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies in operational processes, proposing effective solutions, and constructively challenging existing practices.
  • Offer operational guidance and input into business-wide initiatives and transformation projects, ensuring control requirements are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the Head of Operational Controls in implementing business and regulatory requirements across the syndicate to strengthen the overall control framework.
  • Take full ownership of control documentation, ensuring it is regularly reviewed, updated, and maintained across all relevant operational areas.

We’re keen to speak with professionals who have strong operational controls experience within insurance or financial services - ideally with deep knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and familiarity with Syndicate and European regulatory frameworks.

The successful candidate will be highly proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented, with a strong track record in process improvement and business change. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation.
