We've partnered with one UK's leading Reinsurance organisations to lead their search for an experienced and detail-oriented Reinsurance Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the financial close for the entity.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
Handle technical and financial accounting entries for assigned accounts.
Maintain reinsurance payables and receivables.
Work with local finance teams in ceding entities to deliver financial analysis.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and various group functions.
Provide financial and accounting analysis to group management.
Operate independently with minimal supervision and adapt quickly to dynamic environments.
Collaborate with actuaries to ensure accurate recording of booked reserves.
Document internal controls to a SOX level.
Participate in the implementation and integration of group financial systems.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience (PQE) as a CA, CPA, or ACCA (or equivalent) with a track record of increasing responsibility.
Experience in Big 4 insurance audit and the insurance industry, with excellent technical accounting knowledge.
Proficiency with general ledger, report writing, and SOX control environments.
Extensive experience in reinsurance accounting and internal reinsurance arrangements.
Knowledge of collateral arrangements, reinsurance receivable management, and reinsurance taxes is advantageous.
Involvement in preparing statutory disclosures.
Leading role in accounting close processes.
Familiarity with accounting for complex reinsurance transactions.
Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and industry-standard accounting software.
