Reinsurance Specialist

Arthur are proud to be partnered with a leading specialty syndicate as they look to expand their Outwards Reinsurance team with the addition of a Reinsurance Specialist.

The team are currently on the cusp of some incredibly exciting and innovating changes and are looking for an experienced reinsurance professional who could help pioneer their development plans. The role will require someone to be technically and commercially savvy and have a strong understanding of ceded reinsurance operational processes to assist and oversee accurate and timely completion of BAU reinsurance work, but will have a strong focus on development and change. The team are looking to implement brand new reinsurance systems, integrate a new data warehouse and are looking to automate processes, all of which they'd like this candidate to have involvement in.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create reinsurance risks, ensuring policy terms are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Ensure reinsurance premium and related expenses are correctly booked, advised and settled under Contractual Terms.
• Ensure the timely and accurate calculation and issuance of reinsurance recoveries for both paid claims and outstanding reserves.
• Develop strong relationships with team members across the business as well as externally, to expedite receipt of reinsurance funds.
• Support the Actuarial and Finance teams in all aspects of financial reporting. Provide insightful MI and data analytics.
• Satisfy all internal and external reporting requirements, in accordance with deadlines.
• Raise material issues on a timely basis and supervise through to resolution.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the reinsurance process and internal controls which are in place to support it, including SOX controls. Ensure all controls are in compliance with standards.
