Reserving Actuary

Arthur is delighted to be collaborating with a Global Insurer who are seeking a Reserving Actuary to join their London Market reserving team, focusing on quarterly reserve reviews and contributing to regulatory and management reporting.

This role will offer the successful candidate engagement and collaboration with underwriting, claims, and finance teams, ensuring robust reserving processes and insightful analyses.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake quarterly reserve reviews for specific business lines, producing actuarial estimates and management’s best estimates.
• Communicate reserve review outcomes to underwriting, senior management, and finance teams.
• Conduct ad hoc portfolio analyses and develop reserving databases and systems.
• Support Solvency II Technical Provisions, including change analyses and result presentations.
• Contribute to planning processes, ensuring insights from reserving inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with external consultants and auditors on reserve adequacy reviews.
• Maintain relationships with offshore teams and act as a problem solver within the team.

Requirements:

• Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with several years’ reserving experience, ideally in the London Market.
• Strong understanding of reserving methodologies across various business lines.
• Excellent integrity, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Motivated to support junior team members and build strong internal and external relationships.
