Arthur are working with a leading General Insurer as they seek a Senior Compliance Officer to join their team. Reporting directly into the Head of UK Compliance, you will have demonstrable experience in thinking outside the box to solve problems as well as plenty of experience within a Compliance environment in the Insurance market.
What You’ll Be Doing
Playing a key and dynamic role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring regulatory risk, and reporting on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls to senior management.
Providing regulatory advice and guidance that balances commercial awareness with the delivery of positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
Developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures to inform, educate, and elevate standards across the business.
Designing, implementing, and delivering effective compliance training programmes.
Leading and supporting compliance-related initiatives and projects, including research, regulatory applications, and returns.
Investigating and resolving compliance issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Interpreting data, analysing key performance indicators, and generating regular reports for management.
What You’ll Bring
Deep understanding of the UK and EU financial services regulatory landscape, including PRA and FCA regulations.
Solid knowledge of the general insurance sector, including its products, services, and market dynamics.
Approximately 7+ years of proven experience in compliance roles within the general insurance industry, with a track record of implementing and monitoring compliance frameworks.
Strong background in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks in insurance firms.
Expertise in financial crime prevention and compliance.
Sharp analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical, actionable guidance.
Proven ability to plan and execute tasks effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and people management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
