Senior Controls Analyst (12-month FTC)
Division: Risk Management
Reports To: Head of ERM & Head of Operational Risk Management
Job Summary:Assist the Risk Function in reviewing and refreshing material control activities, including those on the risk register and operational controls.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting Control Framework:
    • Implement and communicate framework requirements.
    • Strengthen control designs and document processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage with finance, compliance, risk management, internal audit, and auditors.
    • Prepare regular reports for leadership and committees.
    • Support the transition of control design to BAU.
  • Change Assurance:
    • Participate in projects, advising on new processes.
    • Ensure Control Framework requirements are met during changes.

Decision-Making Responsibilities:

  • Follow guidelines from the Head of ERM and Operational Risk.
  • Assist Compliance teams and manage the Compliance Calendar.
  • Maintain regulatory communications logs and the Compliance Manual.
  • Coordinate team and Regulatory Review Committee meetings.
  • Support compliance projects and maintain the Key Document Repository.
  • Facilitate committee reporting and support regulatory relationships.

General Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to core values and comply with policies and regulations.
  • Undertake required training and ensure fair customer outcomes.
  • Fulfill role-specific responsibilities as directed.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Qualification in Accounting or Internal Auditing.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry controls.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Understanding of risk management and audit principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards like COSO.
  • Experience in process re-engineering and business analysis.
  • Analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
