Position: Senior Credit Risk Officer – Insurance
Location: Zurich

Job Description:
Arthur have partnered with a leading global insurer who are seeking a Senior Credit Risk Officer to join their team in Zurich. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing an important part of the group-wide Credit Risk Management and Oversight activities. You will play a critical role in setting the direction and influencing the business manages Credit Risk globally, with a focus on Credit Risk as it relates to Reinsurance, Captives, and Deductible programs.
As part of the Financial Risk Governance team in Group Risk Management, you will work closely with Group Reinsurance and the Captives teams globally. You will partner with key stakeholders from risk and business teams and provide independent oversight on Credit Risk in line with Group Risk Management’s mandate. Your strong Credit Risk background will enable you to independently analyze, advise, and approve Credit Risk, and you will have experience in making material credit decisions, allowing you to approve within a delegated authority. Your analytical abilities will provide input into our credit risk methodologies and how we calculate risk for capital management purposes, and you will add value via meaningful risk insights.
In this role, you will also ensure the smooth facilitation of the Corporate Reinsurance Credit Committee, and you will be expected to interact with many key teams, senior management, and supervisory authorities. You will work actively with highly qualified and motivated people in a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partnering and advising business stakeholders and the broader risk team to promote a strong risk culture including effective credit assessment, approval, monitoring, and reporting practices
• Overseeing Credit Risk portfolio quality and governance for Reinsurance, Captives and Deductible programs
• Facilitating the Corporate Reinsurance Credit Committee including the preparation of agenda, portfolio analysis, maintenance of the Committee charter etc
• Maintaining and developing policy and minimum risk management standards
• Preparing Group Risk Management contributions for Management, Board, and the groups annual review reporting as it relates to Credit Risk
• Maintain and co-ordinate approvals for Reinsurance and Reinsurance Broker approved lists
• Evolving and collaborating on exposure measurement methodologies Providing risk insights to management via deep dives and Quarterly Risk Reporting Ensuring policy adherence and ERM processes are implemented as it relates to the team’s responsibilities.
• Driving ongoing efficiency, process, and system improvements, including automation of controls and system workflows in close collaboration with our Credit Support and Development teams
Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or related field
• 10+ years’ relevant experience in Credit Risk, Investments, Reinsurance, Captives or related area Strong Credit Risk analytical expertise and approval background
• Preferably experience in Reinsurance, Insurance, Captives credit risk • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English including committee meeting facilitation
• CFA, FRM or similar qualifications would be beneficial
