Senior Reinsurance Accountant

An opportunity for an experienced Reinsurance Finance Manager has arisen to join a market leading, London Market Insurance business, based in The City of London, on a temp-to-perm basis. This also has the possibility to be a straight permanent role, dependant on notice period and availability.
 
Reporting to a Director, you will be responsible for advising on strategic developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance and optimal delivery from a Reinsurance perspective. You will also be heavily involved in the preparation and implementation of the operational plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy, with regular interaction and reporting to both Senior Management and the Board.
 
You will require a strong understanding of reinsurance and treaty contracts, and reinsurance accounting in general.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of ceded reinsurance accounting.
• Manage the review, recording and intercompany settlement of all group treaties
• Involvement in monthly & quarterly management / board reporting
• Prepare and review statutory quarterly and annual statement exhibits including notes
• Assist in development and implementation of internal controls and development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Clear and concise commentary provided for management reports

 
 
Person Requirements:                

• Significant experience within Reinsurance finance within the London Insurance market
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Excellent business partnering skills
• Advanced Excel and, in general, strong IT & system skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
• Property and Casualty insurance industry required
