A leading global specialty insurer is seeking an experienced Senior Syndicate Accountant to join their high-performing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as they build their internal syndicate reporting function from scratch.

As a key member of the syndicate finance team, you will deputise the Syndicate Financial Controller and will be an integral part of the set up of the Syndicate Finance function as they bring this in-house. You'll be involved in the build of new processes and systems and will be an excellent opportunity to get involved in interesting project work and immediately add value. Alongside this you'll oversee financial reporting across Lloyd’s syndicate operations, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, Solvency II, and other regulatory frameworks. You’ll play a crucial role in the preparation and review of statutory accounts, Lloyd’s returns, and regulatory submissions across multiple jurisdictions including the US and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review syndicate returns (QMA, QSR/ASR, Solvency UK, etc.)
  • Deliver quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Lead audit processes and support risk and compliance reviews
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to senior stakeholders and committees
  • Heavily involved in the build of new processes and systems and support with finance-related project work

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 7 years’ accounting experience, with at least 5 in a Lloyd’s managing agent
  • Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting systems and insurance accounting
  • Professional accounting qualification part qualified of fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
