Our client is a leading player in the Insurance industry. Their dedication to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction has driven them to a leading position in the market. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their well-established team in London.

You will be responsible for supporting the Syndicate Financial Controller with the effective and efficient management of the financial affairs of the company's Lloyd’s entities; focusing on regulatory and operational reporting of Lloyd’s legal entities and effectively evaluating and embedding key reporting changes. Supporting all operational aspects of finance to ensure they continue to operate at a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce all regulatory returns for Lloyd’s, AUKSSL, and APJ entities, including SII and new UK GAAP.
  • Produce Lloyd’s-related statutory accounts and other statutory information.
  • Implementation of new accounting standards and developments within Lloyd’s and APJ entities, in addition to the company's internal policies and procedures.
  • Produce monthly/quarterly consolidation reporting to the Group.
  • Support the Lloyd’s Platform’s reporting framework, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and developments.
  • Assist the FC in the production of board reports for all Lloyd’s and APJ entities.
  • Assist the FC in the preparation and review process of regulatory returns prior to submission.
  • Produce entity management information for submission to the group team.
  • Maintain relationships with segment teams.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on legal entity results, responding to queries from the group team.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure smooth running of the auditing process.
  • Ensure compliance with SOx control procedures, including quarterly financial reconciliations.

Responsibilties 

  • Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA, with over 5 years post-qualified experience.
  • Significant London Market experience (non-life insurance).
  • Experience working in an onshore and outsourced finance model with successful collaboration with outsourced parties.
  • Proven track record of delivery in a transformational culture.
  • Experience in facilitating and encouraging teamwork and developing people.
  • Ability to think strategically with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Experience in defining and delivering against insurance operations KPIs.
