My client is a specialist managing agency that focuses on the management of discontinued insurance and reinsurance portfolios.
They have recently taken on responsibility for several run-off insurance portfolios and are seeking a talented Underwriting Operations Technician to join our team on a fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient policy administration tasks, as well as managing data to facilitate the collection of premiums due to syndicates under our management. You will also have limited underwriting authority for non-material endorsements.

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive candidate who thrives in a changing environment and has relevant operational experience within the Lloyds Market.
You will report to and support the Underwriting Operations Manager and work closely with the Underwriting function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a high level of competence in the use of management information systems
  • Monitoring data quality and ensuring adherence to internal Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
  • Supporting the credit control process through data interrogation and query resolution within the Underwriting systems
  • Managing the ingestion of Lloyds signing messages and monthly close process
  • Developing knowledge of key in-house Underwriting Systems
  • Providing assistance to the underwriter in managing non-material endorsements
  • Being proactively involved with PMAL and syndicate projects to assist with process improvements and embed new systems and tools

To be successful in this role, you should have an understanding of Lloyd’s Market insurance principles and previous experience with slips and endorsements. You should also have good numeric and analytical skills, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving.

My client offers a hybrid working model, with the successful applicant expected to attend the London office approximately 40% of the time.
They also offer a competitive salary package and opportunities for growth and development within the company.
