My client, a leading insurance company, is seeking an experienced Policy Wording Specialist to lead the development of new policy wordings, IPIDs, clause libraries, and schedule templates (manual and electronic) for existing and new lines of business. You will also be responsible for reviewing, improving, updating, and maintaining all versions of policy wordings and associated documentation for all classes, in response to legal or regulatory changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new policy wordings, IPIDs, clause libraries, and schedule templates
  • Review, improve, update, and maintain all versions of policy wordings and associated documentation for all classes
  • Manage associated timelines, milestones, and deadlines in collaboration with the Head of Marine and Specialty and Underwriting Managers
  • Develop and maintain procedure manuals, including recording the rationale for decisions or choices made
  • Oversee the maintenance of a record of all versions of policy wordings and associated documentation
  • Peer review and challenge question sets and marketing collateral produced by Lines of Business
  • Act as a reference point for wording-related queries from team members and underwriters
  • Drive forward good Conduct across the business
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as and when required

Skills Required:

  • Thorough technical understanding of at least one of the classes written by the company
  • Detailed understanding of policy wording construction and policy schedule design
  • Good understanding of relevant insurance law and delegated underwriting authorities
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written English
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
