New Job - Wordings Specialist
Leading Insurance Group
Looking for an exciting opportunity to be a thought leader and expert in all things contract wordings?
A leading insurance group is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to join their Contract Wordings team as a Wordings Specialist.
This is an exciting time of change in the London insurance market, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the future plans of the company, from new product development to customer service. As part of the Underwriting Standards & Governance function, the Wordings Team handles contract-related work for various lines of business across the insurance and facultative reinsurance space, including casualty, marine, energy and specialty, property, and crisis management.
The role -
In this role, you will work closely with underwriters to shape coverage and wordings within the Lloyd's Market. You will attend broker and client meetings, provide input on new product design, and advise on key coverage and wording matters. While previous experience in a dedicated Wordings role is not essential, you must have an understanding of wordings and an enthusiasm for good drafting. The company welcomes candidates who have experience in other connected Insurance roles who seek to move into Wordings & Contracts.
Responsibilities include -
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating insurance and facultative reinsurance contracts, providing support for product analysis and development, assisting during negotiations with brokers and clients, researching contract issues, and providing guidance and training to underwriters and other members of the group on insurance contract matters.
You will attend external market meetings, interact with market bodies and participate in market working parties, where necessary, to influence changes and ensure the company's position is not compromised.
The successful candidate -
You will have a law degree or relevant qualification and significant experience in reviewing and preparing legal contracts, as well as knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, preferably gained in-house within a (re)insurance company or broking environment.
You will have a high level of attention to detail, excellent drafting skills, enthusiasm, and a willingness to challenge and influence decision-making. You must be able to negotiate, influence, and effectively disseminate knowledge, with a self-motivated, flexible approach to work and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic business environment.
If you are a delivery-focused, thought leader with the ability to simplify and explain the complex, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to join a company committed to delivering innovative solutions to their clients.
