Meet Kane Pelgrom, Senior Consultant

Kane Pelgrom joined Team Arthur in February 2022. With 8 years’ experience within the recruitment sector, Kane now specialises in Financial Crime and Compliance within the Insurance Sector.

We’ve caught up with him to chat about Life at Arthur and his experience of joining the team.

Arthur delivers from an employer to an employee perspective, as far as my first three months have gone, I’ve never experienced such a perfect start from how I’ve been received, welcomed, and supported.

Any recruiter that is looking for support from their employer with outstanding commission, culture, and progression plan would not regret speaking to Arthur.

Arthur offered me a desk that seemed like a natural progression in my career. I feel very lucky to work with Ibrahim Ali. Ibrahim is really well known on the market and is so credible. As a manager, he offers total support. I’ve always been a big believer of learning and growth through clarification so I can continue to be a real asset to the team and the business. By nature, I’m fairly curious and at Arthur, I always feel comfortable asking lots of questions, and Ibrahim is always on hand to answer them, whatever they may be.

Here I feel like I’m given the opportunity to truly take on that consultative element of the role which makes good recruiters great. Through investing more time in learning my network and mastering the space as a talent partner, I’m able to deliver more to my clients and candidates by making impactful introductions that benefit all involved.

I’m here to build a long-term career in recruitment, and Arthur supports me to focus and drive my expertise into a single area and become the point of contact within my specialist space. Arthur is one of those businesses where it’s not just the right opportunity for now, but where your career and progression is outlined for the future right from the beginning. It seems rare in recruitment to have a tangible and tailored progression plan that’s built into people’s individual development, but Arthur do exactly that.

Snacks from Kane’s team incentive

For me, I’ve always wanted to be a manager. I genuinely get joy from seeing people around me achieve and everyone at Arthur is so welcoming and helpful.

From a leadership level, Arthur understands the pressures of balancing your family life and achieving your career aspirations. So they’ve created incredible flexibility, I’m able to do the nursery run, or work from home if one of the kids are sick, and as a Senior Consultant, I’m given the flexibility to manage my own time and have an element of autonomy over my day.

So far, what I’ve learned from Arthur is how to truly understand my market so I can continue delivering quality service to my network. It is so apparent that Arthur is a business with established relationships in the industry that it seems easy for the firm to offers its consultants avenues to quickly become experts for whichever one of their specialisms.

From the get-go, I quickly received the impression that the management at Arthur look to understand the individual to ensure that their offering as an employer meets and exceeds expectations. A good recruitment consultant would just flourish in this business.

From a commission structure, Arthur easily outperforms most offerings that were on the market. We’re then offered even more rewards for great performance through our kickers and team incentives.

Arthur have simply got it right as an employer. Communication across the business is open, and people are really receptive and open-minded. Everyone is positive and proactive, and consistently looking to find the great in everything about you as a recruiter. The company really values your strengths and helps you grow from one to another.

Even by the end of the interview process, I felt really listened to and understood as a person. The company put a lot of hard work into presenting what was on offer and spent the time to make me aware of how the company would be able to support me.

Its recruitment done right from the service we deliver to our market to how the company values its people.
