Job - Compliance Manager Industry - Insurance Pay - £75,000 - £85,000 Location - City of London/Hybrid
A highly reputable , well establish , international general insurance Company is in the market for a Policy focused Compliance Manager. High level European horizon scanning activities are a core focus for the team specifically , assessing developments to understand the impact for broader business, adapting Compliance policies & guidance & managing any exemption requests, breaches & incidents remediation, conflicts of interest mitigation, the gifts & entertainment register and whistleblowing operations.
Key duties/responsibilities
Maintain a strong technical knowledge of relevant regulations, keeping up to speed with new developments and the latest regulatory position.
Act as an SME on the regulatory environment, including identifying new regulatory developments that impact the broader business (with the support of external horizon scanning providers and the Compliance Officers) and advising the business accordingly.
Raise the profile of regulatory developments by developing and managing a communications strategy for regulatory developments to include a weekly email update and a monthly report.
Carry out impact assessments and gap analyses on UK and European regulatory developments.
Support the development of policies and procedures to maintain and establish standards of compliance with legislation, regulation, codes of practice.
Oversee regulatory change processes and ensure records are up-to-date.
Run the Regional and Continental Europe Regulatory Developments Briefings, including sourcing presenters and/or presenting deep dives on topics of interest
Construct and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the business
Work collaboratively with other areas of the Legal & Compliance function, in particular Government Affairs, the local Compliance and Financial Crime teams and Legal (in relation to legislative developments)
Qualifications :
University Degree (desirable)
Experience of insurance industry is ESSENTIAL
Experience :
The candidate should have a good knowledge of the insurance industry, especially non-life sectors. They must also have a good understanding of the UK and / or French regulatory environment and the European regulatory environment.
They should be adept at managing competing priorities with excellent time management and organisation skills.
