A global (re)insurer is seeking an experienced non-life insurance professional to be an integral part of their underwriting operation.
Working with the group head of portfolio management, this position will take a leading role in providing insight and analysis to senior management to increase underwriting profitability.
Work will be both on a group basis and by line of business, which spans property, casualty, specialty across both insurance and reinsurance lines. You will develop strong relationships with a number of teams including building trust with regional CUOs and LOB heads. You will use prior analytical skills to assess underwriting performance as well as produce projections to allow growth into new markets but also remediation.
This role requires strong analytical experience and good understanding of the financial status of underwriting. Ideally this will be within a risk carrier or broker with an international reach.
Experience could be as an actuary, underwriter, accountant or similar; who has been able to build strong relationships with underwriting functions. This role is focused on someone who can get 'under the hood' of the portfolios and provided meaningful insight.
As this is a global role, some travel is required but this will be on a manageable basis.
