This newly created role reports to the Group Head of Operational Risk and is part of a team that plays a critical role in overseeing key operational risks across the organisation. The team drives the deployment of a robust and consistent framework that ensures operational risk is managed effectively across the business. The Global Risk Function encompasses several core risk competencies, including ERM reporting and governance, exposure management, risk modelling, and research and development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing the group’s operational risk framework, including risk appetite, monitoring metrics, and scenario analysis.
Support the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process for corporate functions such as HR and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
Review internal loss incidents, conducting root cause analysis, identifying trends, and sharing lessons learned across regions. Monitor and disseminate insights from external events.
Contribute to the creation and enhancement of operational risk profiles and dashboards, including executive and board-level reports.
Help develop operational risk training and educational materials for the Group.
Assist with the configuration and ongoing maintenance of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system, including user guidelines and support.
Support 2nd line governance and control reviews, including thematic reviews commissioned by the Group Operational Risk Committee (ORC).
Provide support as needed for wider group Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities.
What You’ll Bring
At least 2-3 years of experience in the property/casualty re/insurance industry or in consulting (desirable).
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with 2nd line operational risk management frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to execute effectively.
Ability to build strong relationships across various roles and levels within the organisation.
