Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment: Evaluate new and renewal property submissions by analysing construction, occupancy, protection, and exposure (COPE) data, loss history, financials, and other relevant risk information.
Underwriting Decisions: Determine appropriate coverage terms, limits, deductibles, and pricing in accordance with underwriting authority and company guidelines.
Portfolio Management: Maintain a balanced and profitable book of business by monitoring performance metrics, loss ratios, and market trends.
Broker/Agent Relations: Build and maintain effective relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to understand market needs, negotiate terms, and retain profitable accounts.
Policy Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely issuance of quotes, binders, and policy documents.
Compliance: Adhere to company policies, underwriting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with actuarial, claims, risk engineering, and other departments to support underwriting decisions and improve portfolio performance.
Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging risks affecting property lines of business.
