Arthur is currently partnered with one of the most exciting and versatile businesses to join the Lloyd's and London market in recent years. We are seeking ambitious and driven reinsurance professionals who want to elevate their career trajectory further than the traditional Lloyd's and London market trading. 

Our client is a growing Lloyd's business with outstanding capital backing who since inception in recent years have grown to $600m GWP. After year on year growth, the Reinsurance and Capital Advisory business unit is looking for an experienced reinsurance professional to act as the central point of contact and oversight function of all existing reinsurance and capital placements.

In this position, you have the opportunity to develop beyond the traditional Lloyd’s and London market training through gaining exposure to capacity sourcing and third party capital investors in the reinsurance space. This exposure can elevate your career trajectory through developing key relationships in the Lloyd's and wider financial markets. 

The Role:

Reporting to the Director for reinsurance and capital advisory, you will work and support across 3 pillars in this role which are outlined below. 

1) Reinsurance Placement 
- You will be responsible for the placement of a complex reinsurance program. 
- Must understand a broad range of reinsurance structures e.g XOL, Quota Share, Retro. 
- Produce reports outlining the narrative for outwards reinsurance proposals of underwriting teams at the syndicate.
- Able to spot trends when analysing large data sets produced by the underwriting teams, actuarial and finance.
- Candidates must gain an in depth understanding of the syndicate portfolios. 

2) Capital Investor Relations
This Lloyd's business is unique in the market and is incredibly capital flush. This enables ambitious growth targets and provides a truly entrepreneurial environment. 

- Manage existing and develop new relationships with third party capital providers and Lloyd's. 
- Produce quarterly reports for third party capital providers including narrative regarding underwriting performance, return on capital investment, portfolio / markets trends and other information. 
- You must obtain a detailed understanding of the syndicate portfolios to produce and present this narrative. This team is looking to partner with and truly go "the extra mile" for their capital providers - where you will play an integral part. 

3) Capacity Sourcing 
This syndicate has a plethora of capacity at it's disposal however does require additional support from other markets for new underwriting teams joining the business. 

- Develop broker relationships to source capacity from the London, overseas and alternative risk markets.
- Introduce new capacity by developing direct market relationships. 
- Produce marketing documentation and work in tandem with brokers to sell new underwriting teams at the syndicate to prospective capacity providers. 

Candidate Requirements:

- Reinsurance purchasing/placement experience and knowledge is essential (Underwriting, Broking or Outwards Reinsurance desirable)
- Confident in presenting and negotiating with external 3rd parties
- Flair for building relationships both internally and externally with 3rd parties 
- High attention to detail 
- Pro active and a self starter 
- Strong organisation skills 

Candidates must be able to hit the ground running with reinsurance placements. Candidates will be supported with professional qualifications e.g CFA to contribute to this development.
