Engage in a variety of activities within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Team of a speciality insurer to facilitate the effective oversight of risk and control measures. This position will collaborate with the business to foster a robust and efficient internal control framework, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. Additionally, the role will involve assisting the business in its sustainability efforts, aiming to integrate sustainability practices within the speciality sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the enhancement of the risk management function by:
Serving as an ERM partner for multiple business sectors, including underwriting, claims, operations, and finance, to aid the first line in effectively managing the risks encountered.
Establishing processes for the identification, evaluation, analysis, steering, monitoring, and reporting of risks. This includes supporting the first line in the upkeep of the Risk Register and the documentation of risks, controls, and risk events.
Facilitating risk and control assessment workshops.
Cultivating strong relationships, which includes providing necessary reporting and notifications, as well as engaging with key stakeholders throughout the business.
Assisting in the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including the documentation and tracking of ESG factors in the risk register.
Skills:
Demonstrated experience in risk management, encompassing risk assessment, control effectiveness evaluation, and reporting. Proficiency in utilising risk management software is essential.
Background in the insurance sector (preferably general insurance), with a solid understanding of the key functions and processes within an insurance company.
A graduate degree or professional certification in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Proven ability to collaborate and build effective relationships with individuals across various levels within the organisation and across the group.
